Compassionate Support When You Need It Most

The Lewiston Crisis Center provides immediate behavioral health crisis support for teens and adults ages 14 and older. Located at 1155 Lisbon Street in Lewiston, the center offers a welcoming, recovery-oriented alternative to an emergency department for individuals experiencing a mental health, substance use, or other behavioral health crisis. The center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our goal is simple: to help people access care quickly, safely, and with dignity while connecting them to the support and services they need for ongoing recovery and wellness.

Services Available

Individuals who come to the Lewiston Crisis Center may receive:

  • Crisis assessment by trained behavioral health professionals
  • Crisis intervention and stabilization services
  • Medication management
  • Non-acute nursing services
  • Peer support from individuals with lived experience
  • Observation and short-term stabilization
  • Connections to ongoing treatment, recovery, and community supports

Location: 1155 Lisbon Street, Lewiston, Maine
Hours: Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Temporary Admissions Process

To support a safe and successful opening period, the Lewiston Crisis Center is implementing a temporary admissions process during its first 60 days of operation.

  • Walk-in admissions are accepted until 7:00 p.m.
  • After 7:00 p.m., admissions are limited to referrals from hospitals, law enforcement agencies, emergency medical services (EMS), and community crisis service providers.
  • The center intends to move to 24-hour admissions following the initial implementation period, or sooner if operationally feasible.

Updates to admission availability will be posted on this page and communicated to community partners.

Professionals and Referral Partners

The Lewiston Crisis Center works closely with healthcare providers, emergency responders, crisis service providers, and other community partners to ensure individuals receive timely and appropriate care. The center is part of Maine’s growing behavioral health crisis response system and builds on Spurwink’s experience operating Maine’s first crisis receiving center in Portland.
