Spurwink Announces New Appointees to Senior Leadership Team

PORTLAND, ME – Spurwink is pleased to announce two new members to its Senior Leadership Team. Sue Murphy, former Spurwink Senior Program Director, is the Vice President of Adult Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Services, and Misty Marston, former Spurwink Program Director for the Greater Portland Program, is the Vice President of Children’s Residential and Education Services.

Sue Murphy has been with Spurwink for 34 years, beginning as a Direct Support Professional supporting individuals with IDD and autism, and has been involved with various residential and community support management positions through the years. In thinking about her time with Spurwink, Murphy said “Working at Spurwink is both challenging and rewarding, and I have remained committed for this long because I believe in its mission and I enjoy the wonderful team of people I work with.”

Misty Marston has been with Spurwink nearly eight years, holding a number of clinical and administrative positions. She is a licensed social worker and has been in the non-profit sector in Maine for 16 years. When asked what inspires her to work with Spurwink, Marston said “Our mission, the families, and the children we serve…and our amazing staff and colleagues.”

Both are welcomed professionals to the Spurwink Leadership Team and will have significant impact on the children, adults, and families that Spurwink serves.
