Sneak Peek: Spurwink’s 2022 Humanitarian

By May 16, 2022May 19th, 2022Blog

Thursday, June 2, 2022, 5 to 8 pm at Brick South, Thompson’s Point, in Portland

We are excited to once again gather in person to celebrate the mosaic that is Spurwink. Our 2022 Humanitarian, Margo Walsh, Founder of MaineWorks and Co-Founder of Maine Recovery Fund, is being honored for her commitment to reducing barriers and providing employment opportunities for individuals impacted by substance use disorder and felony convictions. WEX will be receiving the Corporate Care Award to recognize its leadership and commitment to creating communities where social equality is a priority.

Sponsored by The Boulos Company and Boulos Asset Management, our online/silent auction and live auction features a wide range of unique items and experiences including local Maine artwork, relaxing spa packages, restaurant gift certificates, and getaways.

Our creative partners Anania and Bailey Advertising have been working with us to create a video that tells the story of Spurwink’s Mosaic; we are excited to share its debut during the program. Portland-based muralist and artist, Rebecca Volynsky, will be creating a piece live during the event that will be then be entered into the live auction. Her creative process involves focusing on the present moment and allowing the artwork to evolve over time. She explores themes of personal growth, mental health, and resilience in her work. Our interactive mosaic community art piece will be on display, and you are invited to add your own perspective during the event.

We are grateful to our lead sponsor, Sun Life, and all of our community partners, including Aetna, Anania Bailey Advertising, The Boulos Company & Boulos Asset Management, Foreside, Gorham Savings Bank, HUB, Maine Magazine, Martin’s Point Health Care, Spectrum Medical Group, Systems Engineering, USI, Volk Packaging, WEX, Wright-Ryan and Humanitarian sponsors AV Technik, Kelly, Remmel, & Zimmerman, Northeast Delta Dental, Pape Chevrolet, PBIRx, Transformit, Saco & Biddeford Savings, Sheridan Construction, and Verrill who make the event possible.

Sponsorship and Host Committee opportunities are still available. For more information, contact Emily Silevinac at esilevinac@Spurwink.org.
