It’s All About the People: Meet Lisa & Kevin Thomas, Representing Gorham Savings Bank

By September 28, 2018Blog

From helping with events to decorating our schools and residential spaces, Spurwink welcomes our corporate. Last fiscal year, there were approximately 200 volunteer opportunities, to which nearly 100 unique volunteers helped support.

Lisa and Kevin Thomas are among such volunteers, through Gorham Savings Bank. Lisa is the Development Officer for Gorham Savings Bank and has been with them for 26 years. Kevin is a Traffic Operations Coordinator for the City of Portland, where he has remained for over 30 years. With their daughters fully grown, they found more time on their hands, and decided to use that time to give back to the community. When asked why they chose Spurwink, they said that Spurwink “seemed like a great cause to support!”

The Thomas’ have a history of volunteering, and have given their time to organizations such as the Ronald McDonald House, Maine Marathon, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine (Portland), Buxton Toy Box, and Maine Track Club.

Their favorite volunteer opportunity at Spurwink has been the Portland 10-miler, saying that “it was a blast meeting people from all over.” However, they said that they’re always looking forward to the next opportunity. And a fun fact about Lisa and Kevin: They make license plate birdhouses and love taking their ATV out on the trails!
