Portland City Council votes unanimously to reallocate opioid settlement funds
Portland has reallocated its opioid settlement funds to support five programs aimed at helping people who are homeless and those with substance use disorder.
The money will fund another year of the city’s needle buyback program; the opening of a day space; additional staffing for the city’s Housing First program; an expansion of services for pregnant women and new mothers struggling with substance use; and an incentive-based program to treat stimulant addiction.
