New Annual Corporate Partner Initiative

By October 5, 2016November 28th, 2016Blog

We are pleased to announce that Spurwink launched an Annual Corporate Partner initiative to engage corporate friends and supporters in a more meaningful way. Through event sponsorships and volunteer opportunities, we hope to deepen the relationship between our business partners and Spurwink’s mission.

One of our first Corporate Partners is Sun Life Financial, who has been a great friend to Spurwink over the years. Their sponsorship not only includes funding for the Spurwink Humanitarian Awards and Brews & Backpacks summer event, but also for the organic garden at our Chelsea Program. Spurwink and Sun Life are also collaborating to bring students from our pre-vocational program at Glickman Academy to be mentored at Sun Life’s Scarborough office.

Sun Life is dedicated to providing benefits to suit the needs of both employers and their employees, and to helping those who have been affected by a disability return successfully to the workforce. At Spurwink we are fortunate to have Dr. Dan Fishbein, President of Sun Life, and Catherine Liston, Vice President, Group and Voluntary Insurance Claims, serve on the Spurwink Board of Directors. “We are excited to support Spurwink’s programs and services. We are committed to promoting healthy communities as well as supporting arts and culture,” says Dr. Dan Fishbein. “We look forward to collaborating with the pre-vocational students, many of whom are challenged by developmental disabilities and mental health issues, to help them become successful in their future employment.”

Thank you Sun Life for championing our students and becoming a part of their journey. If you are interested in learning more about the Corporate Partner program, contact Abby Peck, Director of Annual Giving & Special Events, at apeck@spurwink.org or 207.871.1211, x2106.
