Families were able to celebrate just a little bit more this holiday season, thanks to the generosity of local businesses, volunteers, and those who donated holidays gifts this year. Annually, Spurwink’s outpatient services team connect children and families in need with holiday donations.
Pape Children’s Charity, organized by Pape Subaru, reached almost 60 wish lists worth of donations this season. “The holidays can be such a stressful time,” said Katie Pape, Finance Manager at Pape Subaru. “With significant help from Spurwink, our employees, customers, and families, we have reached a total of 58 wish lists! The folks at Spurwink have devoted their lives to helping those in our communities. If there is anyway Pape Subaru can contribute, we are honored to do it!”
This year, donations were also collected from Spurwink staff and Yarmouth High School students and teachers to help adults with severe and persistent mental illness. Items such as socks, hats, mittens, and toiletries are very helpful to clients who may not have a home.
Additionally, Spurwink works with organizations such as Toys for Tots, The Bruce Roberts Toy Fund, and the Cumberland Firefighters, to bring comfort and joy to Maine families.
