Be a part of the Mosaic of Spurwink at this year’s Humanitarian Awards on Thursday, June 2, 2022, from 5 to 8 pm at Brick South, Thompson’s Point, Portland, ME.
Spurwink is a mosaic of individuals, who together comprise our vibrant and brilliant community — from hardworking and diligent staff to generous individual donors, our corporate partners, to the people we are humbled to serve. We each have a unique story that is a part of a larger mission ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to live healthy engaged lives in our community. This year’s Humanitarian invites you to examine and the learn about the different parts of our mosaic and celebrate together in person what we accomplish together in our community!
Honorees: This year we are excited to be honoring Margo Walsh, Founder MaineWorks, Co-Founder Maine Recovery Fund, for dignifying transitional employment for people in recovery for substance use disorder, reentering from jail and prison, new Americans, and veterans in transition. Her passion for second chances and dedication to innovation and social responsibility has created a company that enables opportunities for those once thought unemployable. WEX will be receiving the Corporate Care Award to recognize its commitment to creating communities where social equality is a priority, and for their dedicated philanthropic support and volunteerism that enable our communities to grow and adapt, ensuring opportunities exist for all to thrive.
Community Art Piece: To showcase all the pieces of Spurwink’s mosaic, we will be creating a community art piece. We’re seeking community involvement in creating a feather that encapsulates your voice and experience. Participants will be given a cardstock feather to customize (paint, collage, add words, etc.) to be returned by May 1st. The finalized community art piece will be on display at the Humanitarian event. We can’t wait to see the mosaic we create together! If you would like to participate, sign up using this form, or contact Alayna Mladucky at amladucky@spurwink.org.
We are actively recruiting donations for our online and live auction as well. If you are interested in donating an item, please contact Alayna Mladucky at amladucky@spurwink.org.
