Spurwink is now receiving school supply donations at 901 Washington Ave, Suite 100 in Portland. Please read below about how to help with donations. If you would like to download or share a 1-page info sheet, you can download the School Supply Drive 1-page document here. Feel free to share in workplaces or your personal networks.
Spurwink provides behavioral health and education services for over 7,500 children, adults, and families in Maine each year. We know that school readiness is linked to academic success, and improved social, economic, and health outcomes for children and families.* And while the impacts of the pandemic have brought added hardship to the individuals and families we serve, we’d like to work with our community to ensure students are set up to learn optimally and building resilience to be successful in the upcoming school year.
You can help by purchasing new items locally from our list below and dropping them off at Spurwink at 901 Washington Avenue, Suite 100 in Portland until September 17, 2021.
We encourage you to shop locally and support small independent businesses if possible, but we also have an Amazon Wishlist if you would like to shop remotely. Additionally, we ask you to consider donating gift cards for local stores such as Staples, Target, Walmart, Renys, or others, to help enable families to meet their specific needs.
