Spurwink is proud to welcome Bank of America Merrill Lynch as a Corporate Partner this year. They were key sponsors for Brews & Backpacks, an event that welcomed over 200 attendees at Shipyard Brewing earlier this year, and filled 200 backpacks for children in Spurwink programs. They are also sponsors for this year’s Humanitarian Awards, taking place on October 12th at Thompson’s Point.
Bank of America is aligned with Spurwink’s mission and values in a number of ways, including a commitment “giving people with disabilities the opportunity to achieve economic mobility and advancement by hiring across the company for teams like Support Services, advocating inclusion and respect.” Through the Bank of America Charitable Foundation, they also direct funding to meet the needs of low-income communities, with a particular focus on preserving neighborhoods, educating the workforce for 21st century jobs and addressing basic needs, such as hunger.
“It is important for our employees to give back to our communities and to continue to learn about the needs of the people that surround us,” said Samantha Commeau, Senior Vice President, Senior Relationship Manager, Business Banking, Bank of America Merrill Lynch. “There are so many amazing programs and great causes that need volunteers and assistance. Personally, the more I can get involved, the better I will be able to articulate the need for others to get involved. I’m proud to be a part of a company that promotes giving back.”
