Co-Occurring Collaborative Serving Maine (CCSME) recently held their annual awards ceremony, which took place during their virtual annual membership meeting. Among those recognized was Spurwink’s ShifaME program for CCSME’s Innovative Practice Award. This award recognizes an organization that has provided exemplary service to clients and families to improve outcomes for people with behavioral health needs through innovative, science-based programs and services.
ShifaME was selected for this recognition for their trauma informed treatment to reduce disparities in mental health care for refugees and immigrant children and their families in Biddeford, Portland, Lewiston.
Recognitions like this help spread the word about this work in the community, and also provide an important way to show appreciation to the team for their great work. Congrats!
