GRANTS IN ACTION
Spurwink Receives American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funding Awarded Through Portland City Council
At its last Council Meeting, the Portland City Council voted to fully fund Spurwink's ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) proposal for Ashlea’s Place, an ultra-low barrier housing first mental health recovery residence for people struggling with long-term homelessness. This project will be a collaboration between Spurwink, Community Housing of Maine (CHOM), and Milestone and will help vulnerable unhoused community members.

Affiliate Provider Spotlight: Maite Garcia
Spurwink Affiliate Providers are able to run their practices without having to tackle back-end office work, such paperwork, insurance, and billing that come with having your own practice. This Affiliate Spotlight is highlighting Maite Garcia, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), who has worked in the psychology field for over ten years, of which the last six have been as a Spurwink Affiliate Provider.

Spurwink Board of Director's 2022 Team Recognition Award
 We are pleased to announce the winner of the 2022 Spurwink Board of Director’s Team Recognition Award! The Brook Street Child Residential Team was chosen as the outstanding team this year, worthy of this recognition. While a number of superb teams were nominated by their peers, the Brook Street Child Residential Team stood out this year in particular.
Spurwink ALLTECH Update & New Program Manager
 ALLTECH is a division of Spurwink that partners with the Maine CITE organization to offer loans of assistive technology and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices for individuals, families, healthcare providers, businesses, and schools to trial. They recently welcomed a new program manager, Darren Smart, who is eager to help ALLTECH grow.

Helping Families Enjoy Thanksgiving Meals
 Thank you so much to Spurwink's amazing staff for donating to our Thanksgiving food drive efforts. Because of their generosity, 20 meals are being provided to families that Spurwink serves across the state! The families receive a range of services, including Children's Behavioral Health Home, Public School Counseling, Functional Family Therapy, and Adult Community Care Management.
