WE ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE OUR 2019 HONOREES
Chief Roberts was chosen as Spurwink’s Humanitarian for 2019 as her leadership and commitment to community collaboration strongly align with Spurwink’s vision that our clients lead healthy, engaged lives in their communities. Under her leadership the Westbrook Police department has partnered with several projects that serve Spurwink clients, including the Cumberland County Children’s Advocacy Center (CCCAC). “The Westbrook Police Department’s relationship with CCCAC is the foundation of our success in serving the most vulnerable of victims—children—ensuring they receive the emotional and physical support from experts, while collecting the information and evidence needed to prosecute those who victimize them. The work the CCCAC and its community partners do is truly incredible. The connections, resources, and relationships created through this collaboration provide a network that focuses on the basic needs of the children.” Chief Roberts, acknowledges the work of detective, Dan Violette, who is heavily involved with the Cumberland County Children’s Advocacy Center, including sitting on their board.
Chief Roberts began her career in 1985 and served 29 years with the Portland, Maine Police Department, retiring as a lieutenant.
