USI has been a Spurwink Corporate Partner for over 30 years, exemplifying Spurwink’s tagline, Going the Distance! Their dedicated investment in behavioral healthcare in Maine is admirable. USI was honored as our 2024 Corporate Care Award recipient this past year for their investment in our community at the Humanitarian Awards. Each year, USI employees volunteer their time as a part of the USI Gives Back, a corporate social responsibility program that invests time, talent, and treasure into the local community through community service.
On Friday, August 23rd, USI once again volunteered at Spurwink’s Glickman Academy, painting classrooms, and organizing supplies to ensure teachers, students, and staff returned from their summer break to refreshed classrooms ready for the Fall semester! In addition, USI collected items for the school supply drive, helping ease the burden on student families and teachers. This long-standing tradition has ensured that students start the year on the right foot.
“With a large percentage of the population impacted by mental health related issues, it’s critical to have organizations like Spurwink provide services within the community. USI is proud to support Spurwink’s mission: Spurwink responds to community needs by providing behavioral health care, substance use disorder services and support services for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds, and their families.” – Todd Jacobson, Executive Vice President, USI
