Sarah Boone is the Vice President of Public Affairs & Administration for CS Operations, Inc. She has been a Development Committee member with Spurwink for five years and brings with her a strong commitment to the well-being of others. When Sarah isn’t working or volunteering her time with Spurwink, you can find her reading, singing, or dancing with her kids, or trying to stay awake to watch a whole football game with her husband.
When I’m not volunteering/working at Spurwink, I’m: Reading, singing, or dancing (badly) with my kids, or trying to stay awake to watch a whole football game with my husband. (Go Pats!)
Spurwink program that I connect with most deeply: Child abuse, because while no child should experience abuse, we must have resources available to help when it happens.
Why behavioral health matters to me: My father is a Vietnam vet who received no help or support after he served. It’s a story we hear so often, told in so many ways. We must do better.
My favorite way to de-stress: Mindlessly wandering the aisles of Home Goods looking for something I never knew I couldn’t live without.
Words to live by: You will find that it is necessary to let things go; simply for the reason that they are heavy.
Most interesting thing I’ve read recently: The Alice Network by Kate Quinn. It’s about a female spy ring in WWI Europe – fascinating and heartbreaking all at once. I also loved Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate, which is set in a city close to my heart.
The music I jam to alone in the car is: 90s on 9
Favorite ice cream: Shaw’s brand Chocolate Chip
Recent Netflix obsession: I don’t Netflix!
Sweet or salty? Sweet. How is this a question?!?
