Spurwink fielded Special Olympics Track and Field teams across three counties to participate in Regional Competitions earlier this year, with the excitement mounting from there! Spurwink athletes from both Kennebec and Cumberland county put their competition experience to good use at the 2025 State Summer Games, held at the University of Maine at Orono. Athletes, staff, volunteers, families and friends spent the day competing with and cheering on athletes from around the state of Maine competing in running, long jump and distance throwing events. Each athlete worked hard in practice this year, supported by dedicated coaches and staff, to achieve their personal best at this event.
Spurwink is proud to have supported 27 athletes to compete in their local Regional events, and 13 athletes to travel to Orono to participate in the Statewide track meet!
