PORTLAND, ME – On Tuesday, April 8th, Spurwink’s Humanitarian will welcome guests in celebration of Spurwink’s impact—increasing access to critical behavioral health care—and honoring past Humanitarian award recipients throughout the years who have made a significant impact in Maine. The event is from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at UNE Innovation Hall in Portland, ME. Tickets are available for purchase at spurwink.org/humanitarian.
For thirty-eight years, Spurwink’s Humanitarian event has brought the community together to honor community leaders who invest their time, talent, and resources to make Maine a healthier place to live and work. This year will be the last Humanitarian event in its current format and will honor past recipients throughout the decades. Past honorees have been invited to attend as special guests, or family members in lieu of those who are no longer with us. A new annual gathering will take its place focusing on the work of Spurwink, launching in the Spring of 2026.
This year’s event theme is “Enchanted Forest.” The program will spotlight the work of Spurwink’s Assertive Community Treatment program. The event will include a reception, program, live auction, and dance party hosted by DJ Ryan after the program.
Sponsors for the Humanitarian Awards include Lead Sponsor: Sun Life; Dance Party Sponsor: WEX; Auction Sponsors: The Boulos Company and Boulos Asset Management; Corporate Partner Sponsors: Bangor Savings Bank, HUB International New England, LLC, Kelly, Remmel & Zimmerman, KeyBank, Maine Community Bank, Martin’s Point Health Care, Meritain Health, M&T Bank, Northeast Delta Dental, Praxis Motion Pictures, Saco and Biddeford Savings, Spectrum Healthcare Partners, Systems Engineering, Verrill, USI, Wright-Ryan; and In-Kind Sponsors: AV Technik, Sea Glass Events, and A+ Party Rentals.
