Michelle Rancourt, LCPC
I have been a mental health and school counselor for the past 6 years. My experiences working within a school and family system have helped me establish a holistic understanding of child development. I believe everyone has the capacity to change and each client should be met where they are. Relationship building is the first step to create a trusting environment for growth. I have a great deal of experience working with children from 5-18, as well as adults and whole family units. My specialties include interventions and behavior modification for ADHD, ODD, PTSD, Depression and Anxiety.
I utilize play therapy, rational emotive therapy, and cognitive behavioral approaches. I also incorporate goal setting and solution focused therapies.
I also work as a school counselor in an elementary school giving me a thorough understanding of school behavioral issues and procedures. In some cases I am willing to conduct counseling from your home for a family based approach.
Other Issues: Anger Management, Asperger’s Syndrome, Emotional Disturbance, Learning Disabilities, Sleep or Insomnia
Other Treatment Approaches: Interpersonal, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Person-Centered, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy
