Spurwink Adult Behavioral Health provides interdisciplinary community-based outpatient psychiatric treatment to adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring chemical dependencies. The overall goal for each individual is psychiatric symptom management. Services include psychiatric medication management, psychiatric nursing, and therapy with medication management. Our dedicated and caring team includes board certified psychiatrists, a board certified psychiatric nurse, and clinical social workers.

LIVING ROOM CRISIS CENTER (LRCC)

The Living Room Crisis Center (LRCC) provides crisis care in a warm and welcoming environment in downtown Portland, providing an interim option between mobile crisis, law enforcement intervention, and the emergency department. It is located at 62 Elm Street in Portland and be reached by calling (207) 535-2096.

CERTIFIED COMMUNITY BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CLINIC

Spurwink’s CCBHC (Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic) specifically addresses the behavioral health disparities experienced by low-income individuals who lack access to care through the Veteran’s Administration due to their discharge status, homeless individuals, and asylum seekers, many of whom have complex needs requiring trauma-informed interventions and support.

The Living Room Crisis Center (LRCC) provides crisis care in a warm and welcoming environment in downtown Portland, providing an interim option between mobile crisis, law enforcement intervention, and the emergency department. Spurwink is partnering with the State of Maine and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in opening the LRCC, which is the first program of its kind in Maine. It provides a voluntary and compassionate alternative for those experiencing a mental health crisis or substance use crisis, whatever that crisis means to them.
