Everybody Have Fun Tonight: 2024 Humanitarian Awards
Join us at this year’s Humanitarian Awards on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 5:30 to 9:00 pm at a new location — UNE Innovation Hall in Portland. This year we honor Angela Stone, founder of Maine Needs, and USI, who will receive the Corporate Care Award. This year’s theme is Everybody Have Fun Tonight and will end with a 80s and 90s dance party! Tickets still available.
Tri-County Mental Health Services Joins with Spurwink
We are pleased to share that Tri-County Mental Health Services (TCMHS) has officially joined with Spurwink to strengthen behavioral health services in Maine. We’re working together to ensure TCMHS’s strong legacy of providing exceptional behavioral health services continues uninterrupted for clients and the community.
Raising Autism Awareness & Providing Needed Services
April is World Autism Awareness Month. The National Center for Disease Control & Prevention’s most recent data indicate that about one in 36 children in the U.S. have been identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and that ASD is reported to occur in all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups.

Supporting ASM's Walk for Autism - 2024
Spurwink is delighted to once again support Autism Society of Maine's Walk for Autism events this year. Walks will be held in Westbrook on Sunday, April 21st, and in Bangor on Sunday, April 28th. These family-friendly walks are on flat terrain, paved walkways of approximately one mile. For more information or to register, visit ASM's website.

GRANTS IN ACTION
Spurwink Receives $50,000 from M&T Bank's Amplify Fund
We are pleased to announce that Spurwink has been awarded an Amplify Fund grant from M&T Bank Charitable Foundation, which will support the Cumberland County Children’s Advocacy Center’s work addressing health equity. Funds will help address child sexual abuse and trafficking, connecting youth and their families more rapidly and effectively to the services they need to begin healing and ensure a more equitable future for children and their families.
