2021 Humanitarian Gala Just Two Weeks Away!
This year's virtual Humanitarian Gala is just around the corner. Registration is free this year and virtual paddle raises are appreciated. Join us on Wednesday, April 7th as we honor our 2021 Humanitarian, Cullen Ryan, who has dedicated his professional career to serving homeless and special needs populations. We will also be honoring Spurwink’s Frontline Heroes who have worked tirelessly during the pandemic. Come Bloom with us!



Portland 10 Miler Scheduled for September 2021
Due to the pandemic and continued capacity restriction on outdoor events, the Portland 10 Miler was postponed and is currently scheduled to take place on September 12, 2021. A portion of each registration fee will be donated to Spurwink. Spurwink Announces New Appointees to Senior Leadership Team
PORTLAND, ME – Spurwink is pleased to announce two new members to its Senior Leadership Team. Sue Murphy, former Spurwink Senior Program Director, is the Vice President of Adult Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Services, and Misty Marston, former Spurwink Program Director for the Greater Portland Program, is the Vice President of Children’s Residential and Education Services. 

GRANTS IN ACTION

Spurwink Chelsea and Cornville Campuses Awarded Distance Learning Grant
In partnership with a consortium of 16 rural schools led by Aucocisco School, Sprurwink’s Chelsea and Cornville schools were awarded a USDA RUS Distance Learning Grant to enhance student learning and professional development opportunities. The project is focused on enhancing digital learning opportunities, with a focus on STEM education, within schools and across the consortium.

Meet Shane Ashe, Program Director of the Adult Program
Meet Shane Ashe, who has been with Spurwink for 16 years, in the Adult Program for 13, and in his current role for 3 years. When he's not at work, you can find him being whatever his kids ask him to be on a given day...a dragon, superhero, or professional dollhouse constructor.
