Spurwink Awarded 2016 Psychologically Healthy Workplace Honor

Spurwink Services was the recipient of a 2016 Psychologically Healthy Workplace award, presented by the Maine Psychological Association. The award program recognizes organizations that make a commitment to workplace well being and create a psychologically healthy work environment for employees.

Providing the best possible work environment is a high priority that is continuously being evaluated and enhanced to address the ever-changing needs of Spurwink’s 900+ employees”, explains Daniel Bonner, Spurwink Chief Operating Officer. “Our employees are human service champions who work in many different capacities to support the needs of children, adults and families affected by behavioral health challenges and developmental disabilities.”

The Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award program, sponsored by the Maine Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association, honors a variety of workplaces, large and small, profit and non-profit, in diverse geographical settings. To receive this honor Spurwink was evaluated on its efforts in five areas:

  • Employee Growth and Development
  • Health and Safety
  • Employee Recognition
